Six networks, many time zones — you need a guide to all of the great golf on TV this summer! Just be sure to add two hours to your recordings to make up for slow play and weather.
In a mere 46 days of summer 2016, golf fans will be able to watch four majors (U.S. Women’s Open and British Women’s Open, men’s British and PGA), men’s and women’s Olympic golf and the eight-team LPGA International Crown.
Watching all of that TV might be bad for your own game, but then, many of us have DVRs so that we can play golf by day and then watch golf by night. And our friends in the UK, Australia, New Zealand and elsewhere around the globe might even be watching golf live at night.
But the where and when, with six networks and at least as many time zones, ah, that is the problem. So for North American viewers, GottaGoGolf has put together this Summer 2016 Guide to Great Golf on TV. We start with the U.S. Women’s Open July 6 and conclude with the Olympic women’s golf finale August 21. (Then we have a month to rest our eyes before the Evian and then the Ryder Cup hit us starting September 15.)
And, by the way, we’re biased but, still, women’s golf stands to be a lot more interesting and exciting than the men’s — which might be why the men are just an opening act for the women in Rio.
